Guest of Honor
No concert would be complete without the stage performance from some of the hottest talent in the industry, and FA: United '08 is no exception to the rule! We've got artistic powerhouses Fluke and Solidasp paving the way with steel-studded pencils, thrashin' out heavy hitting art like there's no tomorrow.

Backing up the airwaves is a special guest performance from the crew of the Clawcast radio show, performing a live Clawcast straight from the halls of the Marriot!

Fluke

GOH: Fluke"I have been drawing since I was a child. I could usually be found drawing famous cartoon characters, like Sonic, Balto, and the Lion King. I found the fandom in around 2002-2003 period, and began to draw furry characters from then on. I would say I really became active in the furry community around 2005 when I started to attend furry conventions, but I never shared any of my art with the fandom until around 2006 when I decided to try and sell some art in the Anthrocon art show. I was incredibly shocked to find how well my pieces sold, and after that I had convinced myself I might have something to offer the furry community at large, so I started to post to Fur Affinity, and the rest is history I suppose.

My art is inspired by a personal belief regarding our lives as humans. I find emotion to really be the spice of life, and what makes it so wonderful to be alive. I am not referring to just love, but the full range of emotions and feelings that make up our lives; from misery, to sorrow, to anger, to rapture, to love. This, to me is at the core of our human existence, and for me to represent it in the form of visual art, is quite simply a natural response mechanism to my own emotions, and experiences. So to put it simply, I draw because I feel.

My hobbies and interests beyond art-making, would be movies of all sorts (not comedies), creative writing, house and dance music, furry and non-furry literature, philosophy, comic-books, traveling, and seeing new places, and most of all, enjoying the limitless possibilities life has to offer."

Fluke is a 21 year old undergraduate student attending George Mason University, where he is studying "Art and Visual Technology" and hopes to graduate next fall with a Bachelors in Fine Arts. He lives in Fairfax, Virginia.

Solidasp

GOH: Solid Asp"I've pretty much always wanted to be an artist. I stated been drawing since I was young, and I started out tracing coloring books. As a kid, I wanted to be a coloring book artist. Some of my biggest influences come from animation, comicbooks and horror. Horror was pretty much how I was introduced to the furry community. I always loved monsters and beasts, and werewolves were at the top of the list. Back in '96 when I first got the internet I was searching for werewolves, and a million links later, I found myself on the were and transformation art sites. I was reluctant to post because there were so many good artists out there, and after skulking around for a few years, I decided to post my art to one of my favorite sites - Werekat’s Were Creatures, and later on I moved on to Transfur.

In 2002, along with my partners in crime, Beastly Bahamut and Ultimate Havoc, we created the “BBS“ (Brutal Beast Studios). That was also the first year I went Anthrocon. I was surprised when I got there how may people knew my art and from then on I decided to con tables at the con. I joined FA in 2006 were I got a lot of exposure in the furry community.

My art is influenced by comics, animation and illustration. As for inspiration I can’t really cite one in specific because a lot of things inspire me to work, be creative. The sky, cracks in the street, a simple human gesture like a some one waving, all seem to inspire me to move forward."

Solidasp has worked as a professional illustrator for a 9 years run. In the past, he has worked in design, comics and animation. At 27 years old, he currently lives in New York City and posseses a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts. Currently, Solidasp is working on a revamp of the BBS site called the League of Evil, which promises to be a wealth of fun.

Clawcast
>LOOK

ClawcastYou find yourself browsing the web page of a convention occurring in the state of New Jersey in the month of August. During the specified days of 1-3 of the designated month a convention takes place in the Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott Hotel. As your eyes scan the list of attendies you come across Fluke, Solidasp, and something called Clawcast.

>LOOK CLAWCAST

You move forward and closely examine the Clawcast. It appears to be a radio podcast that muses on the dealings in the Furry fandom. The hosts Flain, Puc, Zim, and whatever rag-tag crew they can assemble and broadcast their message upon the waves of the mysterious 'internet' for thousands to enjoy. It appears that the information included tends to be very topical and laced with community interaction though the crew seem to have obsessions not limiting to beer, FOOTBALL, Hello Kitty, and more.

>TAKE CLAWCAST

You take Clawcast, which can be found at www.clawcast.com or found on iTunes. You discover that it can conveniently store itself within a miniature media playback unit or other mediums of auditory enjoyment.

>KILL CLAWCAST

As you attempt to exterminate Clawcast, the reader is struck by “20 Seconds of Flain”.You can feel your mind slowly reduce to a thick, paste-like substance. As your befuddled brain takes in the musings of Clawcast, you become further pleased. You are compelled to download more and enjoy as well as win the high score on clawcast.com.
