Welcome to FA United 5, official convention of Fur Affinity! We're rolling out into our fifth year, and this time around we're unloadin' all the stops - from special guests Katmomma and Skulldog, to live music from the band Look Left and weekend dances thumpin' all night long! Wevre decked it out, and are rampin' up the vibe for three solid days of fun, friends and more.
In fact, we've scored an all new hotel brimmin' with all the goods - over twice the con space, bigger room space and more of everything. Period. We're back, and bigger and better than ever!
Drop in and hang out, attend panels and events, learn new skills in art, music and more. Meet up with friends new and old, shop at our expanded Dealer's Den or battle it out head-to-head in our game room. It's a Jersey bash the likes of which only the Garden state can bring. It's about attitude, and we've got it. Gaming, live music, fun and festivities -- you name it -- all weekend long from dusk 'til dawn!
So open your calendar and lock in the dates - August 17-19, 2012. Whippany, NJ.
And leave the spray tan for the "kids" at the shore. We're about serious fun.
Keryn "Skulldog" Everett is a freelance illustrator both in and out of the fandom. A full-time artist based in New England, she dabbles in comics, beautiful and expressive illustrations and creative story telling in her down times. Her style crosses traditional media to the rich, colorful digital work. She's been a familiar face in the fandom for several years, both on Fur Affinity and various furry conventions.
Keryn enjoys fancy beers, classic cartoons and dead things. She secretly wants to be a shark.
Marilyn "Katmomma" Cole is 22 year old American freelance Artist and Art Educator from the suburbs of Philadelphia. She started drawing from a very young age and began showcasing her artwork online 6 years ago. Her work developed through emotive illustration, portraiture and caricature -- capturing the likeness of prominent people in her life.
Having been inspired by cartoons and storybook characters in childhood, she grew fond of the opportunities anthropomorphic characters had for storytelling. In March 2010, she published her first childrens book, The Tortoise and the Hare, a twisted 62 page adaptation of the classic Aesop fable, and landed a defining role as a visual storyteller.
A former Gallery Moderator on deviantART, Cole took an initiative and paired up with a few enthusiastic Furaffinity users to launch the mass meyhem of Fat Bunny Week as the site's first community spoof holiday. Cole does not stop at flat media and has also taken up projects in steel, clay and various 3 dimentional material for her art making. As an eclectic artist, she is also passionate about using her knowledge to educate others. With a Bachelors of Science in Art Education in May 2012, she will continue her endeavors both in and out of her own art classroom and continue to inspire young artists to grow as she had.
